About Us

Borgford Design & Manufacturing is a 29 year old manufacturing firm located in a rural valley near Colville, Washington State, USA. They design and manufacture specialty agricultural and industrial equipment, including loader mounted hydraulic blades and grapple systems for materials, dirt, and snow handling, under the BoDozer label. They have also designed and/or constructed thermal conveyors, computerized sawmill log carriages and other specialty sawmill equipment.

Borgford Design & Manufacturing is owned and operated by Dale Borgford. Dale has worked in the equipment and mechanical industry for over 51 years. Part of his work experience was the manufacture and installation of several wood waste burner systems. In that capacity, he developed special knowledge about burning biomass. He has manufactured and installed four biomass burner projects: two 20 million BTU systems and two 5 million BTU systems. During the past five years, Dale has completed Research and Development activities on a new biomass gasifier, which maximizes the efficiency of burning biomass material.

Three years ago a company, Borgford BioEnergy, LLC, was formed to specialize in manufacturing biomass gasifiers for use by facilities that consume significant fossil fuel heat or electrical energy, or facilities that produce considerable amounts of biomass material as a byproduct of their operation. A 20 million BTU gasifier has been installed in the manufacturing plant as a show system and is 80% complete. An estate or small industrial plant sized gasifier has also been designed, built, and is ready to be installed in its first application.

Lead people in the company include Doug Borgford, Charlie Peterson, & Jason Hendrickson. Their combined background includes many years of fabrication, marketing, electrical and equipment design skills.

The system design has the potential to be a model for the responsible usage of biomass industry wide.
